Even many Orthodox Christians do not understand the significant differences. Our theology and Christian worldview is often quite different from western Christians, and without clarity as to how we differ, we can unknowingly absorb views that are not Orthodox. This affects how we understand Who God is and the purpose for which He created us. This series of presentations "Between East and West" will help clarify, in a respectful way, some of the major differences between the Orthodox Church and the Protestant and Roman Catholic traditions, noting the Orthodox views on issues such as worship, theology, salvation, authority in the church, iconography, and more. Many Christian groups refer to themselves in terms of "One, Holy Catholic and Apostolic" from the Nicene-Constantinopolitan Creed, but their definition of those terms is quite different that the Orthodox and Patristic understanding.
